Synopsis...
A FATE WORSE THAN DEATH.
It’s all part of his sick game. A game he’s been planning for an entire decade. Now everything is perfect: One woman and one man have been selected. They used to be a couple—and they can no longer stand one another. They are the perfect victims. He doesn’t intend for the game to be easy. He wants to push them to the brink of insanity, to make his hunt real. . .

A DESIRE WORTH FIGHTING FOR. . .

The couple has been captured and dumped into a massive wooded area. There’s only one rule in this fatal game: They will have 72 hours to find a way out before the sadistic serial killer begins his hunt . . .But what he never could have expected was the explosive passion that ignites between the two ex-lovers—one that makes them strong. Fierce. And determined to do whatever it takes to escape—and to survive. . .

My thoughts...

Wow! I must say, I don’t read romantic suspense novels often. I find that often authors tend focus on one genre more than the other leaving rushed romances or suspense is not fully built. However as Bella jewel is one of my all time favorite authors (I've read all her books) I thought I will give romantic suspense another go. And I am glad I did! This short romantic suspense book had it all – romance, action , drama and climax. It merged contemporary romance themes and put it in the most horrifying circumstances.

Once your seventy-two hours are up, I’ll come for you, and, like the good little players you are, you’ll make it fun for me.
You’ll run.
You’ll hide.
You’ll fight.
You’ll try to escape.
But you can’t. You won’t. I’ve made sure of it.

The story is set months after the hero, Noah and the Heroine Lara are no longer together. As the story is introduced, it is obvious there is no love lost between the two with misunderstandings breaking them apart. It is after being captured and left to survive with no food, no form of communication - exposed in the woodland where they have only 72 hours to try and escape before their downfall ,  they are forced to speak and work together to come out alive. Feelings come alive, love resurfaces and endurance is tested.

Wild laughter follows me.
“You can run, but you can’t hide.”
I can hear his boots pounding after me.
Tears run down my face as I pick up the pace. I can’t go back to the cave; I have to try to hide. If he can’t track me, he can’t find me. I push past leaves and trees as they grow thicker. I stumble over rocks, but I don’t stop. Sweat runs down my forehead and adrenaline spikes, causing me to pick up the pace even further.
I turn and look behind me —a huge mistake.

Noah is definition of alpha male and his primal need to protect Lara is ignited in this environment . However his softer side is just as strong and perseveres to win Lara back and to show his love is real. Lara is strong , independent but at the same time insecure,  however her love for Noah no matter how much she suppresses it shines and gets it's moment at the end of the book where she shows the greatest bravery of all. However - I cannot give a honest review without mentioning about the fact that even though they were fighting for they lives , on the edge of death , near to their ending, but they still had time to get it on in the woods?? - I found this quite hilarious let's be honest ;)

I loved this quick romantic suspense and LOVED ALL of the characters. Bella is amazing at developing characters that have depth , feelings and many Heroes who are insanely alpha and madly in love with their women.  What’s not to like?

My rating:
**5 Stars**
