Synopsis...
Tired of living in the city, Rachel finally gets offered the job of her dreams and moves to start a new life in Colorado Springs. Sworn off men, she’s not overly thrilled when she discovers her neighbor is not only a very handsome, but a very broody and arrogant man.

A man that, at first, drives her absolutely crazy with his gruff attitude. Determined not to let it affect her, Rachel unleashes her wild spirit on her poor, unsuspecting neighbor, and a fire is ignited between them.

She quickly realizes, he’s a man with secrets. A man with a dark past. A man that drives her absolutely crazy to the point of no return. Yet she can’t seem to stay away from him. Her curiosity gets the better of her, and her wild spirit brings them toe to toe more than once.

And brings a passion to life, neither of them were expecting.

My Thoughts

This book is quite different from the previous two books, 72 hours and The Watcher which had the same sort of concept. This book is more of your quick romance type book and is not as action packed so if you are looking for something short and enjoyable definitely read this.

The female character Rachel rents a cabin in Colorado springs ,  looking for a fresh start with a job that she always wanted.  First impressions and interactions with ‘single father’ Slade was difficult to say the least and if anything frustrating – mainly because he is a bit of an A hole and a manwhore. They don’t talk much at first but she becomes acquainted with his child and then as their relationship grows they are forced to get along.

After getting to know Slade and his adorable child Ryder, you realise the their relationship is not what  one might assume; and this creates problems as the story progresses in terms of Ryder’s safety and Slade’s ability to trust women who come into his life. Rachel finds that Slade might be a lot more caring and kind than he has let on and her attraction and feelings towards him amplify.

Rachel is a quriky character, but also very innocent and timid but she doesn't let this affect her when she needs to give slade what he deserves. Slade is the definition of the difficult, extremely attractive neighbour and bleeds jealous alpha male personality. it is adorable that even though he tries to distance himself from Rachel he also finds excuses to be around her and comes running when she is upset. Definitely a Swoon worthy hero.

Overall I really enjoyed the book however if I had any complaints it would be that it was too short and I would of like to see a bit more action. In saying that character development was excellent, loved the female and male leads , LOVED sweet Ryder – adorable! So for those who are looking for a quick read to relax and tune into some romance , I this book is definitely for you.

My Rating: 3.5 Stars!!
